The Valley Wheelers, in conjunction with Neo Cycling Club, will host the show which has been running since 2013 and has grown to include bicycles, motor scooters and micro cars.
Show organiser Marc Rerceretnam says there will be try-the-track lessons, races for juniors, a Concourse/Show & Shine event, prizes for the best bikes in 19 categories and an array of fascinating stalls.
Celebrating Sydney’s 190-year history of cycling, he says the aim of the show is to foster goodwill and enhance networking between bicycle enthusiasts and other bicycle clubs.
“We also want to promote cycling as a relevant and practical form of transport, as a lifestyle choice and a sport and to encourage the recycling of old bicycles and parts,” he said.
“The bicycle has been in Sydney since March 1831, when a Sydney Monitor journo spotted one at Hyde Park, all those years ago.
“Today, whether you like new or old bicycles, you will love this fun event. If you have an old bike, a sentimental favourite or a classic one-of-a-kind bicycle, bring it along and show it off.”
It’s on Sunday, October 30, 10am-4pm. Details: marc@hwy.com.au.
