Last week the student from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School at Georges Hall, came first out of a field of 154 others in the Sydney Catholic Schools Cross Country competition and will be among the top four representing Sydney in the NSW event at the end of the month.
If she succeeds at that event, she will advance to the NSW team and take on the best in Australia.
A talented member of Bankstown Little Athletics, Casey also benefits from having a Bankstown Sports Club coach and Mum Tracey says she would run 365 days of the year if she could.
“She also plays social tennis and is a very keen student at the Bollard School of Dance but absolutely loves her track and field,” Tracey said.
“She stands about a head shorter than most of her competitors but that doesn’t hold her back, she is just so quick and 25kg of pure muscle.
“We’re very proud of Casey and can all see her going a long way in her sports.”
