Calling out Bankstown and Greenacre as areas of concern, Premier Gladys Berejiklian says community transmission numbers are way too high across the state, with 478 cases last Sunday and 452 on Monday.
“We can’t stress enough how hard all us have to work to reduce these numbers, to reduce the growth of the spread and to make sure we are all staying home unless we absolutely have to do otherwise,” she said.
The Premier also again urged people to get the vaccine, and while saying “we know the vaccines are working”, emphasised that “it takes two to three weeks for the first dose to take effect, so don’t assume you are protected as soon as you get the jab, please assume you have the virus or anyone you come in contact with has the virus”.
Cases blowout
THE number of Covid-19 transmissions in the community is “disturbingly high” with new cases blowing out to more than 450 a day.
