Scouts NSW will recognise six Scouts from across the State in late November, to celebrate those young people who have made a difference in their wider community.
Cobalt wanted to do something to help those who were struggling with a lack of social interaction when Sydney went into lockdown last year.
Over several months, he facilitated sessions of online Trivia, with the Scout Unit, family, friends, soccer team, neighbours and elderly community members as participants.
Starting as a Joey Scout when he was aged six, the 12-year-old has been around Scouts all his life as both parents are involved in Scouting.
“I like going bushwalking and camping,” he said.
“My favourite camp is Region Camp, because there are so many different activities and in our free time, we explore the bush and the rock caves.”
Some of his favourite events this year included going to the State Alpine School and achieving his Level 4 Cross Country.
“I also enjoyed leading different activities, like being Patrol Leader for the first time at State Rally and leading campfire songs at our Group Family Camp,” he said.
In 2023 Cobalt will be working towards achieving the Australian Scout Medallion.
