Carer arrested for murder after starving woman dies

A CARER has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was found in a home in Greenacre last Friday.

Paramedics were called to a home on Pandora Street, Greenacre, shortly before 11am, responding to reports of a medical episode.
However, they allegedly found the body of a severely-emaciated, 60-year-old woman and alerted police, who arrested an 82-year-old man, the woman’s sole carer.
He was charged with murder.

Staffer charged over robbery
POLICE allege a man, 48, arrested outside a home in Yagoona last Wednesday, who was contracted by a hotel in Sylvania, provided information and assistance to another man in the facilitation of a robbery.
It is alleged that about 3.25am on Sunday, March 6, a masked man, who was armed with a pistol, confronted three staff members – two women and a man – at the hotel before restraining and taking cash from poker machine trays and fleeing.
A short time later, the staff members were able to break free from the cable ties and call police. Although shaken, they were otherwise uninjured.
Following extensive investigations, a 44-year-old man was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, and three counts of take person, intend commit serious indictable offence.
The following day the 48-year-old was arrested outside a house at Yagoona, where police allegedly seized cash and mobile phones for forensic analysis, and charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, and three counts take person, intend commit serious indictable offence.

Threats in knifepoint hold-up
A MAN has been charged after he allegedly threatened and robbed a man at knifepoint in Bass Hill last month.
About 1.20am on Saturday, February 5, police were called to a unit on Robertson Road, where a 38-year-old had been threatened with a pair of scissors and his wallet stolen. He also sustained a small cut to his arm during an altercation at the unit.
Police arrested a 27-year-old in Granville and charged him with robbery armed with offensive weapon and an outstanding warrant.
