“Your Side knows that for some people accessing mainstream support can be confusing; care finders will ensure those in need can access that support,” Your Side CEO Danielle Ballantine said.
Already making a difference, Your Side care finder Tanya Dunne has helped a 90-year-old Auburn resident to access care for shopping, washing and social connections.
“She was receiving letters from My Aged Care and panicking about what to do,” Tanya said.
“After a stay in hospital, she was referred to care finders.
“In the past month, I have spent around two hours a week with the client in her home on the phone with My Aged Care and other services.”
The client said: “I hadn’t been able to understand any of the aged care system. I felt scared to have people in my home. The care finder helped me find a reputable company and came to my home to meet the worker on their first visit. Now I feel safe to receive the care.”
