Car show raises $19,000 to assist charity

THOUSANDS of locals and visitors from across the State, have turned out for the annual East Hills Charity Car Show and helped raise $19,000 for this year’s charity – Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis or IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) for which there is no cure.

A great field of classic cars assembled with many makes and models – from the 1920s through to the 2000s – on show.
Organiser Glen Waud says that while supporting the charity, the show still offered the same goal as when it began in 2014 – “to assemble all makes and models of the coolest cars in NSW”.
“The weather was wonderful, even if it was some months coming, it was worth the wait and a great community day for a truly great cause,” he said.
“We would also like to thank our fantastic event sponsors, volunteers and event committee, Doug Walter, Ruth Le Bas, Stephen Julian, Kerry Jeffs, Richard Noonan and Peter Puton.”
Transdev NSW Managing Director Robert Macey said Transdev NSW was proud to be a major sponsor.
“Our team were delighted to be there on the day to provide information on the bus services we operate in the community and to promote a range of career opportunities available,” he said.
“I congratulate and thank the organisers, especially Glen Waud, on delivering such a successful community event, which we were thrilled to be part of.”
