The State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad is investigating after shots were allegedly fired at a vehicle last year.
Bankstown Police were called to Welch Avenue in Greenacre after police received several reports gun shots had been heard in the area on Wednesday, December 28, last year, about 3pm, and located damage consistent with shots being fired toward a vehicle, as well as empty bullet casings and damage to a fence.
A crime scene was established, before officers attached to State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad commenced an investigation under Strike Force Terrol.
Initial inquiries by strike force detectives suggest three shots were fired at a black Mazda 3 during an alleged illegal transaction.
The armed man is believed to have fled the scene in a black Toyota Camry, before getting into a grey Hyundai Veloster on Highview Street toward Bankstown.
Police believe there were two females and four males involved in the transaction, who could have links to Organised Criminal Networks (OCN).
As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV of the alleged incident, as well as CCTV of a number of people allegedly fleeing the scene.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have information or dashcam vision that could assist investigators to come forward.
