Car crash caught on camera

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her car plunged through the wall of a small business in Granville about 2am last Tuesday.

Emergency services, including Cumberland Police Area Command, were called to the intersection of Parramatta Road near Bold Street after a Toyota collided with a truck.
The Toyota then travelled off the road, through a petrol station and into the external wall of small business IPVision.
The business sells security cameras, so the incident was caught on CCTV from several angles.
The female driver of the Toyota, aged 50, managed to escape the car and was taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.
The driver of the truck, a 36-year-old male, was not injured in the crash.
IPVision owner Mahmoud Arabie said he was shocked to get a call about 8.30am that day from a neighbour saying a car had crashed into his shop.
He said he was relieved no one was seriously hurt but the damage would put him out of business for the next few weeks.
“At first I was worried it may have been a burglary but turns out it was just an accident,” he said.
“We’ve been cleaning up every day but my shop is still a mess and we won’t be able to reopen for another two or three weeks.
“Luckily our contents are insured and we’re hoping the car insurer will cover the repairs to the shop.”
Police inquiries are continuing.
