Canterbury Woman of Year win

LONG-TIME community worker and local business leader, Violet Mansour-Jamil has been presented with the 2020 Canterbury Local Woman of the Year award at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour.

State MP for Canterbury, Sophie Cotsis, presented the award, saying that she has had the pleasure of working with Ms Mansour-Jamil on a number of issues to achieve real benefits for the community.
Ms Mansour-Jamil has worked in the local real estate industry for over 35 years and is also Vice President and Secretary of the Earlwood Business Chamber of Commerce.
“Violet has worked together with local businesses and stakeholders to ensure our community benefits from a healthy and growing local economy,” Ms Cotsis said.
“An active member of Campsie Rotary, she has been a passionate supporter and activist in our local community, who has never been afraid to fight for better outcomes for local residents.
“Her economic contribution to our community also deserves recognition and praise.
“Violet has had a positive effect on the lives of many people in our community, and we are very lucky to have her as an ambassador of our area and positive role model to young women.”
