Maria’s Fresh Flowers in Padstow has increased their colourful range this year to include the new ‘preserved’ flowers.
Unlike fresh flowers which only last a few days, preserved flowers are pollen-free and will last for years and still look gorgeous.
“You may be familiar with the dried brown arrangements from the 70s and 80s, but today’s preserved flowers come in a plethora of pretty pastel shades and vibrant colours,” Maria said.
“Preserved flowers can last up to three years and in a sealed case, could last up to 10 years.”
Maria also has an exciting range of bouquets, arrangements and posies from $25, as well as boxes of delicious chocolates from $10, new scented candles from $15, potted greenery and dish gardens featuring a wide variety of plants, from peace lilies to orchids.
“We can also deliver fruit baskets and gourmet food hampers to make your mum’s day extra special,” she said.
Maria said that although chrysanthemums and carnations were the classic Mother’s Day flower, people liked to mix it up these days.
“You can choose your own designs and colour in store or online, just make sure to get your orders in early,” she said.

O Wally Mehanna said it was also encouraging to see so many residents and business owners mixing it up and getting to know each other.
