The 24 and 34-year-old men face more than 80 charges including unlawfully selling firearms three times or more within 12 months, supplying a firearm and pistol, and deal with property proceeds of crime. Two other men were also charged.
As part of their investigation, police allegedly seized 15 firearms, including a prohibited 9mm submachine pistol, an SKS semi-automatic machine rifle, pump-action shotguns, various rifles, handguns and about 700 rounds of various calibre ammunition.
Police say initial examinations suggest the firearms have either been stolen, manufactured without registration, illegally imported or have origins unknown.
During early morning raids last month on five homes, two in Chester Hill, police allegedly seized more than $10,000 cash, 1L of clear liquid (suspected to be GBL), 1kg benzocaine, 180g cocaine, cannabis, a locked safe, a drug ledger, multiple mobile phones, two electronic control devices, a prohibited slingshot, knuckle dusters, a machete, fireworks, three vehicles and other items relevant to the investigation.
Police allege that the group were facilitating the illicit acquisition and on-supply of firearms and was involved in the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs.
