Business to keep residents safe

KEEPING the community safe has always been in this family’s pedigree and the launch of Accredited Civil Training at Milperra was no exception.

Director Andrew Raper has started the company with another local business person, Joanne Tonks, after they saw a gap in the market for a quality training organisation to service both local companies and others across Australia with quality, user friendly and flexible workplace safety training options.
“We deliver mobile training that comes to the employer’s premises with the highest quality trainers,” Andrew said.
“It’s that simple.”
It all stems back from the local family’s personal connection to work place safety.
In the 1990s after a work place accident, Andrew’s father, well known local Terry Raper, retrained as a safety officer and then a workplace trainer.
In 1995 Terry started Standard Training Pty Ltd, a local business Andrew still owns and operates today.
“Workplace safety is personal for us, so we take the responsibility to train others personally too,” Andrew said.
“We are now offering courses like safety around underground services and overhead power lines and metallic water pipes to ensure people stay safe when they are digging, operating excavators and working on site or in local streets as well as other courses like first aid for businesses and working at heights.”
