The Under 11s boys won their grand final 33-13 which was a huge result against a strong Camden Cats side, with Bullshark Isaac Aad named ‘Best on Ground’.
Youth Girls 12s put in a great effort against Baulkham Hills who proved too strong, taking the match 32-20.
Bullsharks president Tim Hall congratulated the teams and said preparations leading up to the U11s boy game, had been spot on with six training runs in between the final and grand final.
“From the first bounce, we dominated possession with forward entry after forward entry but we weren’t able to convert starting the game with six behinds,” he said.
“We knew the Cats only needed one goal to swing the momentum but our defence stood strong like it had all year and we were able to repel their attack.
“We executed all the things we had been working on this season with link up play, hard tackles and crashing the packs to limit anything the Cats threw at us.”
He said the game was a true testament to what the boys had been about all season and proof they deserved to be there on grand final day.
“The boys had their efforts rewarded and came away with the chocolates, crowned champions,” he said.
“Jacob, Webby, Zaccy, Eli, Vince, Brandon, Flynn, Lachy, Adam, Ayman, Zac, Rocco, Benny, Riley, Linc, Hendrix, Henry, Musty, Yaquob, Izzy and Cooper – you guys are now part of Bullsharks history and I couldn’t be prouder.”
With registrations for the next winter season in February, there will be a Girls Only AFL four-week program from October 12 and Summer Squad AFL Skills program for eight weeks from November 9 at Kelso North.
