Heading into the match on a six-game losing streak and with skipper Josh Jackson sidelined by Covid, the Bulldogs dug deep to dazzle the star-studded Roosters outfit. They struck the first blow in the 14th minute when Addo-Carr carried two defenders over the line to score.
Come the 21st minute and he raced 90 metres to touch down, putting the underdogs up 10-0.
The Roosters had to wait until the 39th minute to grab their first try, making it 10-4 at the break.
Bulldogs blunders early in the second half opened the door for the Roosters to hit back and the margin was just two.
Bulldogs five-eighth Matt Burton’s second 40-20 of the season in the 54th minute put his team on the attack and Matt Dufty delivered a superb lofted pass for Jayden Okunbor to score.
Trailing 16-8, the Roosters conceded two six-agains but hung on.
With six minutes to play, they scored again and the Bulldogs were left clinging to a 16-12 lead.
The Roosters went in again but the try off a foot, was denied before they lost the ball and the Bulldogs hung on for a memorable win.
Their second win of the season, sees the Bulldogs level on four competition points with the Titans, Tigers, Knights and Raiders.
Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett was over the moon.
“Tonight was the night when we finally got one of those close decisions go our way,” he said.
“It was a great win and the club needed it.”
The Bulldogs travel to GIO Stadium in the national capital to take on the Raiders on Friday from 6pm.

JOSH Addo-Carr helped stun the Roosters and lead Canterbury Bankstown to an upset 16-12 win at Accor Stadium on Saturday night.
