He joins fellow Bulldog Tevita Pangai Junior who will debut for NSW.
Addo-Carr said he was disappointed not to be selected last year over the Bulldogs’ poor start to the season.
“Then we started to find some form,” he said.
“Through all that I just put my head down and worked harder. And now I’m back here.”
He said he loved the excitement and the pressure of Origin.
“You’ve got people not only in Australia but across the world watching it,” he said.
“It’s massive, it’s just so big. You’ve got the whole of NSW on your back so it’s real pressure.
“And I think pressure is a privilege in this sport.”
The Bulldogs came from 14-0 down to win on the back of a masterclass form Matt Burton and a last-ditch try at Accor Stadium on Sunday.
Burton finished with 77 run metres, four tackle busts, two offloads, a linebreak, three try assists and his towering kicking game was the difference between the two sides.
A spirited second-half saw Jacob Kiraz and Addo-Carr score and the Bulldogs pick up their first win in almost a month, with a late Jayden Okunbor try sealing the deal.
Coach Cameron Ciraldo said he wasn’t too stressed at half-time.
“I knew if we could get our stuff together we’d be able to get some points … It was good to have [Josh Addo-Carr] back; Foxx is a really big energy booster for our team.”
The Bulldogs have a bye this weekend before taking on the Roosters on Sunday, June 4, from 2pm at Industree Group Stadium Gosford.
Other results: The Knock On Effect Cup, Bulldogs defeated by Bears, 24-22; and The Jersey Flegg Cup, Bulldogs d Raiders, 26-10.
