Eight NSW Metropolitan teams (two U16 and two U18 Boys and Girls) will take on the nation’s best players in teams from the ACT, South Australia and Victoria.
Bankstown Bruins Basketball Association CEO Christian Gobolos says the ECC is a unique development opportunity as it takes athletes out of their comfort zones by exposing them to talented athletes at a State and National level.
“Its aim is to create positive challenges for players, with the experience helping them to become accustomed to the standard of play required to compete at an Australian Junior Championship,” he said.
The player selection announcement followed five Bruins referees being selected to ref the best young players in the country at the Australian National Schools Championships on the Gold Coast.
“The Bankstown Basketball Association is extremely proud of the representation of both players and referees in the State and National arena,” Gobolos said.
“The players from the U16s and U18s have been training very hard to make this squad and will obviously do their Association and State proud.”
