Breast cancer surviving MP to lead screening awareness day

STATE MP for Canterbury and a breast cancer survivor, Sophie Cotsis has partnered with Pink Sari Inc to hold a cancer screening awareness raising event at Campsie Library this Sunday.

Pink Sari Inc is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to provide South Asian communities with information and support, to raise awareness about certain types of cancer.
The event (2.30-4.30pm) will include a panel of local doctors and health professionals, as well as the Cancer Institute, Cancer Council and Breast Screen NSW, and be an opportunity for locals to ask questions about cancer screening and the services available to them.
“This event will be pivotal for our local community, which is highly multicultural, to understand the national screening programs for breast, cervical and bowel cancers,” Ms Cotsis said.
