Breaks three records ahead of titles

AS swift as the wind, 12-year-old Phillip Botonis has kicked off his tilt at the upcoming HART Sport State Track and Field Championship by breaking three records and leading his senior relay team to the gold medal podium.
The Bankstown Sports Little Athletics Club member achieved his remarkable hat-trick by breaking the Regional record in the 3000m with a time of 9:47.28.
He then backed up this performance by breaking the record the following day in the 1500m – the clock stopped ar 4:31.11.
Phillip then smashed the 800m record with a time of 2:18.11 before starring in the senior relay team which won the gold medal.
“Congratulations to Phillip on his amazing achievements and we can’t wait to see how he goes at the State Track and Field Championships next,” a Bankstown Sports Athletics Club spokesperson said.
Phillip will join 44 Bankstown Little Athletes who will compete in the State Championship team in 102 individual events and one relay event from Friday to Sunday, March 22-24, at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
