Boys named champs in metro athletic fest

THREE students from Bankstown’s LaSalle Catholic College and one from Milperra’s Aquinas Catholic College will compete in the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Athletics Carnival (CCC) this week.

After excelling in the field in the recent Sydney Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival (SCS), Aquinas’ Jarvis Rosette (pictured inset) was named the overall U16 Age Champion after winning the 100m, 200m and 400m races.
The Revesby Workers’ Athletics Club member said he was proud of his achievement.
“I appreciate having the opportunity to compete in something I love and to have fun while doing it,” Rosette said.
“My aspirations are to make the national final of the 400m next year at the 2023 Australian National Athletics Championships on the Gold Coast.”
LaSalle’s Alessandro Bileci, Stephan Ghanem and Marcus Rassios (pictured) also did well in the SCS, winning or placing in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump at the carnival, with Bileci awarded Age Champion in the U12-U15 Multi Class Age Group.
LaSalle Sports Co ordinator Michael Daher says the school is extremely proud of the boys and their efforts.
“They all work really hard to achieve the best results that they can and most importantly they have fun as they participate,” he said.
“The College looks forward to what is to come for these students and hope they can do themselves and the College proud in the upcoming Athletics carnival.”
