INNER West Magpies AFL club has welcomed the signing of Ben Klemke as playing coach of the men’s Premier Division team for the next two years.
“Wests are thrilled to welcome Ben to our club,” club president Nick Miller said.
“In 2020, across seven women’s and men’s teams, we are looking to build on our achievements of 2019.”
He takes over the reins from 2019 Coach of the year Kevin Eynaud who has decided to take a step back and devote time to his sons who are forging football careers of their own.
“Kevin has laid a wonderful foundation for future success at the club and the club will be forever in his debt for that contribution and for his ongoing input into our football department across our men’s, women’s and juniors programs,” Miller said.
“Ben comes to the club with a storied career of his own from Collingullie in the Riverina which represents the continued connection the club has always had with the Riverina region of NSW.
“He also has played at West Adelaide in the SANFL and Queanbeyan Tigers in the NEAFL, being a part of the Tigers Premiership team in 2012 under cousin Kade’s tutelage.”
The Magpies expect a number of exciting announcements in the coming weeks as a result of the hard work in the off season due to a continued rise in their fortunes on the back of the wonderful foundations that Kevin Eynaud and women’s Premier Division coach Arron Convery have laid both on and off the field.
