Booming Bullettes aim for fantastic fundraiser

MARKING its 20th anniversary, East Hills Netball Club (Bullettes) will host its inaugural ‘Celebration of Women’s Sport Luncheon’ at the new Bankstown RSL Club on Friday, May 31, 12-4pm.

For the over 18s and featuring auctions, a jumbo raffle and colossal card draw with $1,000 up for grabs, the event will also include fantastic speakers such as Australian Cricketer and World Cup finalist Ashleigh Gardner, a former player in the Bankstown City Netball Association and Australian Diamonds player, Jamie-Lee Price, her dad Steve Price, former Bulldogs captain and Kathy O’Hara, a Melbourne cup jockey who has local connections.
East Hills Netball Club President Craig Gillespie said that this season, the club was fielding an amazing 28 teams – double that of just two years ago and the most in the Bankstown City Netball Association, enabling over 250 women and girls taking to the court.

“The luncheon is a way to promote the Women’s Sport message as well as raising funds for equipment and uniforms plus club operations,” Craig said.
“We are also seeking donations of items, vouchers or experiences to be used as auction and raffle items; it would be great to hear from anyone in the community who can help us with that.”
Needing to be purchased in advance, tickets are $110 (eight people per table) and include a two-course meal with wine, beer or soft drink.
