The free Savings Finder Information Sessions will be held at libraries, and are aimed at helping people living on aged pensions navigate the NSW Government Savings Finder website.
During each session, a specialist from Service NSW will provide information about how to use the website to save money on items including energy and utilities, public transport, health, recreation and home and other services.
Mayor Bilal El-Hayek encouraged seniors to book in and attend one of the free sessions.
“The increasing cost of living is affecting all Australians,” Mayor El-Hayek said.
“Prices are rising due to inflation, and many people are struggling.
“These workshops aim to help some of our most vulnerable residents stretch their incomes as far as possible during these difficult times.”
Bookings will be taken by the libraries, with sessions held on Wednesday, October 18, at Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre (9707 9708), 10am-noon and Lakemba Library and Knowledge Centre (9789 9419), 3-5pm; Thursday, October 19, at Panania Library and Knowledge Centre (9707 9733), 3-5pm; and Friday, October 27, at Padstow Library and Knowledge centre (9707 9747), 2-4pm.
