Blues finish in wheelie good form

THE Auburn-based Sydney Blues have gone down to Sydney Uni Flames but won the last of their three-game encounter in the opening round of the Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League (WNWBL).

Sydney Uni Flames won the first two games on Saturday, 54-51 and 51-45, before the Sydney Blues won 72-64 on Sunday. Kylie Gauci scored 12 points in Game 1 and 10 in Game 3.
The Sydney Blues play out of the Auburn Basketball Stadium and feature Australian Women’s team (Gliders) representative, Maryanne Latu and former Glider, Gauci in the ranks.
Maryanne represented Australia at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games and was a member of the junior State team, while Kylie is a three-time Paralympian, winning a silver medal in Athens (2004), a bronze medal in Beijing (2008) and a silver medal in London (2012). She has represented Australia in over 180 international games.
The Blues head to Queensland to take on the Comets on July 13.
