Big Bike Day back with two rides for youth

BIG Bike Day returns to War Memorial Park in Leichhardt on Sunday, September 22.

The all-ages cycling festival welcomes everyone from seasoned riders to the completely inexperienced.
The annual celebration has a packed program including two feature bike rides: A 7km ride at 12 midday through the Inner West aimed at 12 years-and-up and led by the Police Bike Unit and bike user groups; and a 1.6km ride at 1.15pm along the separated Whites Creek Cycle Path, also led by the Police Bike Uni and also aimed at children.
The festival will run from 11am to 2pm, and also feature bicycle-powered smoothies and coffee, skills workshops for people of all levels of experience – for those 12 and up, bicycle maintenance checks, face painting, bicycle decorating and unicycle rides.
The day is a great way to develop confidence and riding skills, chat with riders from all walks of life, and discover new bike routes that suit all needs.
