The Young Writer Award (12-15 years) winner was Stanmore’s Eugenie Yamamoto who collected $250, with Summer Hill’s Rose Mitchell named runner up.
The Young Artist Award (16-18 years) winner was Ashfield’s Freesia Laris who picked up $500, with Tempe High School’s Kelly Liu winning $250 as runner up.
The Young Artist Award (12-15 years) winner was Marrickville’s James Nguyen who collected $500, with Petersham’s Dylan Donnini winning $250 after being named runner up.

Inner West Councillor Lucille McKenna OAM presented the awards: “The writing and artworks here are just so impressive. I’m really proud of all the young people who took the time to research and then create their entries.
“Special congratulations to this year’s winners, and I want to also thank the judges who I’m sure were also blown away by the standard at the 2019 Young Creatives Awards.”
Winner of the Young Artist Award (12-15 years) James Nguyen’s acrylic painting was inspired by graphic novel, ‘Celeste’, by I.N.J Culbard.
“I have enjoyed art all my life and I felt an urge to participate in the Young Creatives Awards to have fun, and to see what I am capable of,” he said.
