Best physiotherapist in nation

SURPRISED and thrilled, Bankstown Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Centre has been named the best in the nation after taking out the 2024 Australian Small Business Champion Award in the physiotherapy category for the second time.

Up against 10 other finalists from across Australia, physiotherapy centre owner Jim Liakos said he was in shocked when their named was called out at the presentation gala and followed his firm winning the same award in 2020.
“We have been a finalist ever since then but never dreamed we would be able to win it again,” he said.
“We did win a Canterbury Bankstown Local Business Award in the Health Improvements category in 2015 and then again in 2021 and have been local finalists every year so it’s a great feeling to know we are held in such high esteem.
“Thank you to all of our patients, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, City of Canterbury Bankstown and all of our followers for making this possible.”
Jim says he puts his success down to the KIS principle.
“Keep It Simple has always been my motto and of course, customer service is top priority,” he said.
“I think longevity may have something to do with it too since we have been looking after the community now for 25 years.”
Apart from the physiotherapy, hand therapy and hydrotherapy and other treatment services, Jim is developing a men’s health program including a focus on prevention and post prostate cancer surgery to aid recovery.
“We are also very attentive to patient needs,” he said.
“For example, when a doctor calls or it’s urgent, we take care of the patient immediately, there is no waiting time because of the fantastic team we’ve got.”
Recognised as the ‘Oscars’ for small business and presented by Precedent Productions, the Australian Small Business Champion Awards is the only national recognition program for the nation’s small business.
