Beatrix’s among first children to get a ‘quick and easy’ Covid vaccination

GET vaccinated” is the message from ‘super brave’ six year-old Beatrix, who was among the first children in NSW to receive a vaccination against Covid-19 when she rolled up her sleeve at the Granville Centre Vaccination Clinic last week.

BRAVE six-year-old Beatrix was among the first children to be vaccinated at the Granville Centre Vaccination Clinic with Covid-19 vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 years old, beginning last week.

A cheerful Beatrix has now joined the call for kids to get vaccinated.
“My vaccine didn’t hurt, it was quick and easy,” she said
“To everyone out there, get vaccinated.”
Beatrix’s mum Carly accompanied her to the vaccination saying, “if there’s anything as parents we can do to keep our kids safe, we should do it, and that’s why I haven’t hesitated to get my daughter vaccinated”.
Carly said she wanted her daughter vaccinated to reduce her risk of catching Covid-19 and reduce the spread in the community, and after “reading a lot of the NSW Health information” felt comfortable about the vaccination.
“I would say to other parents, if you’re thinking about getting your kids vaccinated and you’re not sure, read trusted sources like NSW Health and then you could make your decision,” she said.
“It was very quick and over in a second, she got a sticker and was ready to go.”
NSW Health vaccination clinics are administering the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to children. Parents can book their child’s appointment at a range of centres including general practitioners, community pharmacies and NSW Health clinics.
