The splash parks provide free water slides and are available each weekend throughout January from 10am to 4pm at Wyatt Park in Lidcombe, Campbell Hill Pioneer Reserve in Guildford, Granville Park in Merrylands, Greystanes Sports ground, and Lytton Street Park in Wentworthville.
Mayor Lisa Lake said the initiative is part of Council’s Cooling Cumberland – Beat the Heat Community Education Campaign which aims to provide residents with information and resources to help manage the heat and keep our community safe.
“I encourage families to come out and enjoy the free splash parks, which provide a great opportunity to get out and about, socialise with community members, have fun and cool down from the summer
Cooling Cumberland – Beat the Heat’ campaign aims to help residents manage extreme heat events with temperatures expected to soar this summer,” she said.
“The campaign provides a wide range of information and resources on heatwave management and will include the extended trading hours of Council’s community centres and libraries as well as the free pop-up splash park activations.”
