Bashed by machete-wielding man

POLICE are appealing for information about an assault in Lidcombe earlier this year which left a man with serious head injuries.

Shortly before midnight on Saturday, March 19, police were called to the car park of a community hall on Bridge Street, Lidcombe to reports of a brawl.
A 27-year-old man suffered serious head injuries after he was assaulted by another man brandishing a machete who had arrived at the location with four others in a Honda CRV a short time prior.
The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with serious head injuries, including fractures and a subdural haemorrhage. The man underwent surgery, and his recovery is ongoing.
Investigators have released CCTV images of a Honda CRV and several males who they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
All three are described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, around 170-180cm tall, and of a medium to large build.
Two of the men are captured leaving the carpark in the CRV, which travelled eastbound on Tooheys Lane and briefly stopped outside Lidcombe Railway Station, where a third man entered the vehicle.
Anyone with mobile phone vision, or who has dashcam from the area at the time, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Inquiries continue.
