Bankstown women bowl way to victory

AFTER a delayed start due to a wet outfield, Bankstown Sports First Grade Women won the toss and courageously elected to bowl against a confident Parramatta side on Sunday.

The fast bowlers started strong, targeting areas to limit scoring shots before the spinners got to work.
Samantha Devlin was the pick of the bowlers with 5/22 off her 10 while Jannatul Sumona was extremely economic with figures of 3/13 off her 10. Parramatta were eventually bowled out for 88 after 43.2 overs.
Bankstown knew a strong start was important to chase down this total to give them the best chance at double bonus points.
A couple of great cameos from Jade Errington (14) and Dharmini Chauhan (16), partnered by a very composed 38 not out from Angelina Genford, saw Bankstown get home in the 23rd over, securing the two bonus points in the process.
