Bank clowns around for kids

CLOWNING around to help put smiles back on the faces of sick children, Commonwealth Bank Roselands staff dressed up for the day, raising nearly $4,000 for The Humour Foundation.

COMMONWEALTH Bank Roselands staff dressed up as ‘clown doctors’ at an all day charity event which raised almost $4,000 to help put smiles back on the faces of sick children.

Clown Doctors is the core program of The Humour Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that provides doctors dressed as clowns visiting sick children in hospital, treating them with a dose of humour. Last year CBA raised almost $200,000.

Branch bank manager Patrick Bejjani said: “We have a long standing history with Clown Doctors that spans over 20 years. Our fund-raising efforts for Clown Doctors is something we are very proud of. Knowing that we can provide support to Clown Doctors in their effort to bring much needed laughter and fun to sick children means a lot to our staff. “It’s also heart-warming to have our community get behind us as well as they did.”

Clown Doctors is also receiving $1.2m over three years through the generosity of thousands of Commonwealth Bank employees who donate a portion of their salary.
