Back on the tools and dates with mates at Riverwood Men’s Shed

GLAD to be back on the tools after a Covid-interrupted year, Riverwood Community Centre Men’s Shed team is happy to be resuming their many community projects.

“To them, it’s a joy, you can see it in their faces, and for Riverwood Community Centre, that’s all we want. We feel like we have achieved something,” Riverwood Community Centre chairperson Karl Saleh OAM said of the volunteers.

“One of the challenges we faced at RCC was supporting local community members whose mental health had suffered after experiencing loneliness or isolation during last year’s lockdown.”

Men’s Shed projects include repairing furniture, improving local amenities and taking part in working bees at the community garden.

Open to men and women, the Men’s Shed is located on Washington Avenue at the base of the Lincoln building.
