Federal MP for Blaxland, Jason Clare, visited the organisation’s headquarters at Bankstown Airport to announce the funding, which he says “will make the work they do a just little bit easier”.
Little Wings CEO Clare Pearson said the organisation received $1,500 to purchase uniforms for volunteers – “the backbone of our operation”.
“Being an organisation that is 90 per cent volunteer-led, providing our team with the correct equipment and protections is key to retaining, supporting and encouraging our team,” she said.
“Over the past 12 months, Little Wings has experienced a 110 per cent increase in service demand, meaning a 50 per cent increase in volunteers required to help keep us in the air and on the ground every single day. So this funding, while modest, will have a great impact for us at Little Wings.”
