Precedent Productions Managing Director and Awards founder Steve Loe said nominations for the awards had closed and the response had been overwhelming.
“I have been incredibly touched, not only by the huge number of nominations received this year, but the comments that have accompanied so many of them,” Mr Loe said.
“The past year has been a challenge for everyone and many people said that they particularly wanted to nominate their favourite local businesses as a way of showing their support.
“This community has always been a close one, but this proves that when times are tough, they band together in mutual support. That’s one reason why people love living, working and running businesses there.”
Precedent Productions has started the enormous task of reviewing the nominations and finding the most popular nominees in each category.
The awards are made possible with the support of platinum partner Cumberland City Council, major partners Wenty Leagues Club, Nova Employment, Stockland Merrylands and Primewest Auburn Megamall and support partners Dooleys, Auburn Central, Merrylands Chamber of Commerce and White Key Marketing.
The outstanding businesses will be announced at the Cumberland City Local Business Awards presentation evening on Tuesday, July 27, at Wenty Leagues Club.
