Australia’s best Asian comedians roll into celebration just for laugh

WITH nothing off-limits, the Year of the Dragon Comedy Showcase gathers six of Australia’s best Asian-Australian comedians for an hour of hilarious fun at Lidcombe Community Centre this Friday night.

“There’s no better way to usher in the Lunar New Year than with a gutful of laughter,” says producer and performer Harry Jun who presents ABC Gamer and is the host of upcoming SBS podcast, Say Kimchi.
“The line-up consists of faces and voices you may have heard on ABC, SBS and TikTok.”
These include Jenny Tian who is one of the fastest-rising young creatives in Australia.
A comedian, writer, and actress, you might recognise Jenny from her appearances on Celebrity Letters and Numbers (SBS), triple j and The Feed as well as TikTok where she has amassed 160,000 followers.
“I’ll be discussing aspects of my upbringing which everyone will be able to relate to and enjoy a good chuckle,” she said.
There’s also Sydney Fringe Festival star Christina Zheng, proud IT nerd and award-winning comic Pat Golamco who is known for his zippy one liners and awkward personal stories, the physically largest Asian-Australian comedian Kevin Jin (who’s also large in talent) and the razor-sharp witted Chris Nguyen.
An award-winning comedian, Chris has cemented his status in comedy clubs across Australia and last year was invited to perform at the Very Big Very Asian Comedy Festival in New York.
“These Asian comedians are among the best in the world and will have plenty to say to lift your spirits and ensure your night’s a memorable one,” Harry said.
