August nights to get hotter with tribute

IT’S 50 years since Neil Diamond stepped on stage at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles with a symphony orchestra and recorded what is still known today as one of the greatest epic live albums of all time – Hot August Night.

Now that album will be re-created in its original format in a national tour by Peter Byrne and the Sydney International Orchestra who will be rocking into Bankstown Sports Club in September for one night only.
Featuring classic songs like ‘Crunchy Granola Suite’, ‘Cherry Cherry’, ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘I Am I Said’, the performance will offer the same spontaneous display of energy and sensuality of Diamond himself.
Peter’s capacity to recreate such a flawless tribute, has been endorsed by Diamond on many occasions.
After he recently announced his retirement from live performing due to illness, many Diamond fans both in Australia and worldwide were devastated and so Peter decided he would salute 50 years of his music with some special moments in the show.
Along with the 30-piece symphony orchestra, Peter reenacts every song from the albums as Diamond recorded it.
After sellout shows in Australia over the last 20 years and Peter’s first sellout tour of Ireland in 2019 and 2022, he will showcase ’Hot August Night’ at the club on Saturday, September 24, with doors open from 7.15pm.
Tickets: $70 (booths available) at bankstownsports.com.
