“TAP identifies, nurtures and promotes talented young singers through a series of workshops with experienced coaches and mentors plus performance opportunities,” she said.
“We’re on the lookout for someone who is enthusiastic, eager to better themselves and someone who wants to commit to development.”
Auditions are open to high school students aged 12 to 18 years, who live or attend a school in the Canterbury Bankstown local government area.
If you would like to audition for the Talent Advancement program, obtain an enrolment form by emailing tap@bankstownsports.com by February 17, with auditions being held from March 3-5 at Bankstown Sports.
A community project of the City of Canterbury Bankstown, Bankstown Sports Club and the NSW Department of Education, TAP was launched in 2002 and has discovered and nurtured more than 350 youths, including Casey Donovan and Paulini who has just been cast in the Chess The Musical in Victoria, many of whom have gone on to do great things in the performing arts world.
Auditions on for young in hunt to find next top talent
ON the hunt to unearth hidden gifts, Canterbury Bankstown Talent Advancement Program (TAP) organisers are calling for young people to audition at Bankstown Sports next month.
After a very different 2020 with no live performances but lots of recording and filming of performances which were live-streamed for the annual concert in December, TAP Director Wendy Tierney says the venue has changed but the TAP ethos is the same.
