Auburn post office chief marking 50th milestone

Celebrating 50 years, Auburn Post Office manager Eroll Lebreux with State general manager Christine Walker.

CELEBRATING 50 years with Australia Post and the Auburn Post Office manager for 20 years, Eroll Lebreux says there have been many highlights in his career and that the people have made it the most enjoyable.

Born in Mauritius in 1943, Mr Lebreux suffered a serious arm accident when he was 12 that left him with limited arm and finger movement but that didn’t stop him achieving his goals.
The French food and kayaking lover says he has never allowed his injury to limit him and not very many are aware of his disability.
He moved to Australia in 1969 and started as a trainee postal clerk in 1971, passing his probation which included mastering the telegraph machine requiring him to type with both hands.
He worked his way up to supervisor and postal manager at various outlets but found his ‘home’ at Auburn.
“I love it here and have enjoyed every minute,” he said.
“I have a great team and I think Australia Post is an amazing company.”
Post Office Network NSW State general manager Christine Walker said: “Eroll is a much-loved member of the community and customers know him as a great listener who always greets them with a smile. He is a true asset and we thank him for his incredible 50 years’ service with Australia Post.”
