Attempt to set fire to police vehicle

A MAN has been charged after allegedly attempting to set fire to a police vehicle parked outside Ashfield Police Station last night.

About 8.45pm on Thursday, September 3, Burwood Police arrested a man after he poured petrol over a fully marked police vehicle and attempted to set it alight, before throwing objects at another fully marked police vehicle.
Police confronted the 28-year-old man who allegedly became aggressive.
OC spray was used to control him before he was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station and charged with damage property by fire (attempt), resist officer in execution of duty and malicious damage.
A Police officer suffered minor injuries.
