Sydney Thunder is bringing a cricket and reading clinic to Granville Library in the upcoming school holidays on Monday and Thursday, September 26 and 29, 2-3pm.
For ages five to 12 years, the clinic is free and will teach the basics of cricket along with the instructors reading to the children to show how important education is alongside their physical well-being.
The second most popular sport in the world after soccer, cricket can be played both socially and competitively by males and females of all ages.
Sydney Thunder’s Javid Sadrnia says the books will feature themes around sport, physical activity, health and wellbeing.
“We aim to make this interactive and with a link into the physical activity element,” he said.
“This is followed by a 30-40 minute cricket skills session where we aim to develop skills (catching, throwing, batting, bowling), focused on the child’s ability.
“Sydney Thunder is proud to make a meaningful contribution to the community in this way; our purpose is to inspires and unite our Thunder Nation.”
