Christmas gifting is the theme for this inaugural curated event by Sydney Artisans, with 26 local creators featuring a long list of handcrafted products including candles, jewellery, hair accessories and fashion, homewares, essential oils and soaps, personalised gifts, makeup, perfume, dried florals original art and stationary, Indigenous art, ceramics and resin art.
An intuitive healer will be on-hand during the day for psychic readings, and musical entertainment will be provided by talented local students.
There will be plenty of food offerings including Sunshine Meats chorizo rolls, bacon and egg rolls and charcuterie boards featuring their multi-award winning ham (voted this week as the best non-supermarket ham in the country for 2023 by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age’s Good Food). Desserts will include cakes and donuts, loukoumades and ice-cream, while a tasting bar will be serving up some great Aussie-made craft spirits.
Sydney Artisans was founded by cousins and colleagues Celina Pereira and Nalita Ferraz, who drew on their experiences running their own market and expo stalls in Sydney and Melbourne for their own small businesses, to create an event that would showcase other like-minded creators, in particular women.
Plans are already in the works for even larger events in 2024 and beyond at other venues around Sydney.
The Sydney Artisans and Sunshine Meats Makers Market will be held at 360 Horsley Rd, Milperra, this Saturday, December 16, from 9am to 6pm.
Entry is free.
