Just before midnight on Saturday, November 4, emergency services were called to a unit on Grazier Street, Lidcombe, following reports a 36-year-old man had been assaulted and forced into a vehicle.
About 11pm the following day, the man was found on Lower Washington Drive, Bonnet Bay, suffering facial injuries.
He was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, established Strike Force Rowallan to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Investigations revealed the incident was linked to the alleged kidnapping of a 44-year-old man from a shop on Park Road, Regents Park, on Friday, October 6.
Detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Lutetium and the man was returned to his home the following day, suffering minor facial injuries.
Strike force detectives arrested a 30-year-old man at Bankstown and a 27-year-old man and 17-year-old boy at Regents Park last Friday night.
The older man was charged with two counts of take/detain in company with intent for ransom occasion actual bodily harm, conspiracy to take/detain in company with intent for ransom and knowingly direct activities of a criminal group.
The younger man and teenager were charged with two counts of take/detain in company with intent for ransom occasion actual bodily harm, enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence, two counts of participate criminal group contribute criminal, two counts of be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, conspiracy to take/detain in company with intent for ransom, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
Arrests over kidnap
TWO men and a teenager have been charged over the alleged kidnapping of two men in Lidcombe and Regents Park.
