Arrests in brawl over illegal bike

TWO men have been charged after police were allegedly assaulted at a service station in Greenacre.

Just after 8pm on Sunday, officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad were patrolling Greenacre, when they saw an unregistered trail bike being ridden south on Waterloo Road.
It’s alleged the bike was not displaying rear number plates and pulled in to a nearby service station.
Officers stopped to speak to the rider and while attempting to arrest him, he allegedly resisted their efforts and a violent struggle followed.
During the struggle, an officer drew his taser and the rider, a 17-year-old male, was arrested.
A large number of bystanders surrounded officers and further police attended to assist dispersing the crowd.
Two men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested for breach of the peace before being later released.
A third man, aged 20, was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station with the 17-year-old male rider.
The rider was charged with traffic offences including using an unregistered motor vehicle, learner drive bike etc not displaying “L” plate, resisting or hindering police officer in the execution of duty, and two counts of assaulting police officer in execution of duty.
The 20-year-old man was charged with resisting officer in execution of duty, and using offensive language in/near public place/school.
Two officers suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident, with one taken to Bankstown Hospital for further treatment.

Twice stole at bottlo

A MAN, 21, from Panania has been charged with shoplifting after he allegedly twice stole from a liquor store in Revesby.
Police said the man entered the store last on Wednesday, April 10, at 5pm, picked up some alcohol and walked out of the store without paying.
About half an hour later, it’s alleged the male walked back into the same liquor store and stole more alcohol and walked out.
CCTV was obtained and posted on the Bankstown Police’s Facebook page where he was identified.

Aggro patient arrest

A MAN who was allegedly acting aggressively and abusing police, has been charged with resisting officer in execution of duty and stalk/intimidate, intend fear physical, harm (domestic).
About 2.30am on Tuesday, May 14, Police were called to a house at Smith Avenue, Yagoona to provide assistance to ambulance officers who were dealing with a 28-year-old male patient acting aggressively.
Upon police arrival, a male inside the home was acting aggressively and abusing police. Police struggled with the man before he was arrested.

No L-plates, driver

AN alleged police pursuit has led to the arrest of an 18-year-old from Clemton Park.
Last Sunday at 11.45pm, police were stationary at the intersection of Johnston Road, Bass Hill and the Hume Highway, when they saw a vehicle turn into Hector Street contrary to the red traffic arrow.
Police said a pursuit was initiated when the driver wouldn’t stop.
The vehicle eventually stopped at a dead-end street in Marion Street, Bankstown.
The driver was arrested and charged with not stop before lights at red arrow, police pursuit, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, learner not accompanied by driver/police officer, learner driver not display L plates as prescribed.
