Arrest shooter after six years

A MAN has been charged after allegedly firing a shot at a security guard during an attempted armed robbery at a licenced venue in Petersham almost six years ago.

About 8.20pm on Saturday, December 27, 2014, a man allegedly armed with a shortened rifle entered a venue on New Canterbury Road, and threatened a security guard and patrons.
Police will allege the man fired a shot through a glass door in the direction of the guard, before there was a physical altercation between the pair.
The guard grabbed the rifle and the man fled empty handed.
Detectives arrested a 37-year-old man on Liverpool Road, Ashfield, last Wednesday morning.
He was charged with assault with intent to rob while armed with dangerous weapon and discharge firearm intent cause grievous bodily harm.
