Arrest over kidnapping and assault

A 58-YEAR-OLD Padstow man has been charged with kidnapping and assault after allegedly attacking a 49-year-old female friend earlier this month.

The woman went to the man’s Gibson Avenue home on Friday, April 5, at 11.45am but he allegedly became argumentative and aggressive, before restraining her.

The man allegedly threw the woman into the bath and repeatedly hit and poked her with a wooden stick, and she suffered bruising to her back, arms and legs.

At 7.30pm the man allegedly forced the woman into his car and drove her to a nearby ATM to withdraw money, however her card was declined.

After driving home, he told the woman to leave and she did, before going to Liverpool Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and police were alerted.

On Wednesday, April 10, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command arrested the 58-year-old man at his home in Padstow, and he has been charged with take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage occasion actual bodily harm.
