Arrest man for road rage three weeks after assault

A MAN from Lakemba has been charged after an alleged road rage attack in Belmore last month, which left a man in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The 34-year-old, who allegedly assaulted a 47-year-old man on Peel Street, about 7.20pm on Sunday, May 28, left the scene before police arrived. The injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The Lakemba man was arrested at a unit in Sproule Street almost three weeks after the alleged attack and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm.

Man, 19, dies in car smash following pursuit by police
A CRITICAL incident investigation is underway after a man died in a crash following a police pursuit at Menai early last Friday morning.
Traffic and Highway Patrol were performing speed enforcement duties on the Bangor Bypass, about 6am, when they detected a Holden utility travelling above the 80km/h speed limit.
It’s alleged when the car was pulled over by police on New Illawarra Road, before it was driven off and a pursuit initiated.
A short time later, the ute hit a barrier on Alfords Point Road before colliding with the rear of a Toyota utility.
The driver, 19, died at the scene while the driver of the Toyota was not injured.

Charge teen over series of armed robberies in stores
A TEENAGER arrested in Chester Hill was one of four charged over a spate of alleged armed robberies.
The 17-year-old was charged with three counts of robbery in company and be carried in a conveyance taken without consent of owner.
Two of the alleged robberies occurred on the one day in Smeaton Grange, where a quantity of cigarettes and cash were stolen and Parramatta, where a 51-year-old female employee was forced to lay on the ground as $2,000 worth of cigarettes was stolen.
Inquiries under Strike Force Offerton continue.
