Arrest man, 18, after alleged holdup, attack of taxi drivers

A MAN has been charged after two taxi drivers were allegedly attacked last month.

A taxi driver picked up a passenger on Churchill Street, South Granville, on Thursday, March 28, about 5.15pm and while driving along Blaxcell Street, the man allegedly produced a knife and threatened the driver, demanding money.
The 65-year-old driver pulled into a service station and the man fled, before returned a short time later, allegedly stealing the CCTV camera from the vehicle before running off.
The following day about 4.30pm on Eve Street, Guildford, a taxi driver picked a man, who, after an argument produced a knife. Police said a struggle ensued and the driver received lacerations to his hands and arm before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
An 18-year-old man was charged with aggravated robbery and inflict actual bodily harm, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
