Apply for grant to aid community

MAYOR Khal Asfour and Federal MP for Blaxland put the new half-court at Carysfield Park to the test.

The half-court at Bass Hill was funded by the Canterbury Bankstown Council and Mr Clare’s Stronger Communities Fund, which provides grants, between $5,000 and $20,000, to not-for-profit organisations for small capital works projects that improve our local community.
Mr Clare is now encouraging all sporting and community groups to apply for funding under the program.
“This half court is a real hit. It gets used a lot and people have told me they want more in the local area. If you know a park where we should put another one let me know.”
He said the next round of funding is now open, so apply by contacting his office on 9790 2466.
