Appeal for witness over barber bashing

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a Punchbowl barber was bashed and stabbed last Tuesday night.
Shortly after 6pm, two men entered a barber’s shop on Arthur Street and assaulted a 33-year-old man, believed to be the owner of the store.
He was treated by paramedics for two puncture wounds to his leg and arm before being taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The two men ran from the store and were last seen getting into a vehicle and heading north on Arthur Street.
Campsie Police are investigating.

Charge two after man stabbed in leg and foot
TWO men have been charged over an alleged stabbing in Padstow last Sunday night.
Police alleged that three men – not known to each other – were involved in an altercation, before one of the men, aged 34, was stabbed in the leg and foot.
Two of the men fled before police arrived.
The injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition to undergo surgery.
A 25-year-old Punchbowl man and an 18-year-old Carramar man were arrested at a unit on Colin Street, Lakemba, last Monday about 2am, before being charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Recover three firearms suspect threw from car
POLICE recovered three firearms allegedly thrown from a vehicle in Padstow Heights last Friday afternoon.
As part of ongoing proactive operations by the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad to address firearm related crime in south west Sydney, a Toyota Camry was stopped on Alfords Point Road Bridge, Padstow Heights.
It is alleged a passenger was seen to throw a bag and firearm from the vehicle and with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad, the 30-year-old man was arrested.
The bag, containing two firearms, along with a third firearm were allegedly recovered from the roadway. They have been seized for forensic examination.
The driver and a second passenger were released.
As part of their inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Bowden Boulevarde, Yagoona, where they allegedly seized firearm parts and a flick knife.
The man from Forster was charged with three counts of possessing an unregistered firearm-pistol and acquire pistol – subject to firearms prohibition order.
